Mwamba

Wonderful, amazing, marvellous, stupendous, enlightening! Those are just a few of the adjectives that come to my mind at the mention of Kasisi orphanage. I call it a ‘volunteer heaven’ because the people and children are great to work with. Everything has a place and time, all is in order. After one day of being here I easily blended into the regular order of events. The children bring a smile to the face and heart, hugs are freely given!!

The sisters are a marvel, and the work that they do here, immeasurable.

Upon arrival they welcomed me as though I had been at Kasisi orphanage all my days, and I felt that I could stay there for the rest of it. Their humour never ceases, their patience and perseverance admirable and their trust freely given.

The permanent workers are kind and just, not once did I hear an unkind word form them, and they were ever ready to help the struggling volunteer on her first day!!! At the end of each day they say thank you, a simple act that always left me speechless.

I know I have gotten so much more out of this, than I have been able to give, and for this I am eternally grateful.

To the staff and children at Kasisi orphanage…..

I LOVE YOU ALL! You will always have a place in my heart.
