I am a girl fifteen years of age . I
live at Kasisi Children’s Home . The in charge of the home
is Sister Mariola. They are three hundred children.
I came here on the 11th of March 2002 . I was brought here
by Sister Stefania, one of the Dominican sisters.
At first, I was staying in Kasama with
my father ; when he passed away , my aunt took me to live
with her . It was very difficult for me because I never
stayed with her before my parents passed away. After two
weeks , I told sister Canisia that I was not comfortable
with my aunt . Thus, she took me to the convent and I stayed
there for a month before I came to Lusaka .
During the one month I stayed at the convent , I studied at
a school called Mubanga Chipoya . My friends were Catherine
, Miriam and Rose . I was the only young girl at the convent
, I really enjoyed staying there , especially because I also
found other two girls who had recently joined sister hood.
From Kasama to Lusaka I came alone. When I arrived I found
Sister Stefania waiting for me . I did not know her, but
from her uniform, I was able to recognize that she had came
to collect me. Then we went to Lilanda , I was welcomed by
the sisters , they took my suitcase inside . Sister Stefania
showed me around the area. The next day which was on a
Sunday , I came here at Kasisi.
However, I really thank God for giving us the sisters who
really take great care of us. May the good Lord give them
more strength to continue with their work.
